I now have in my possession my third pair of running shoes. I feel like I’m cheating the system somehow by taking my shoes back, used, for yet another new pair. But I still haven’t found a shoe that works for me! The pair I took back gave me the worst blisters I’ve ever had. And I thought maybe the blisters would be a one-time thing, but they weren’t. I decided to take them back when a new blister started developing on top of the old one!
I have made progress though, which really makes me happy. My longest run is 8 miles and I extended my mileage for last week by two miles, for a total of 22. If my newest pair of shoes works for me, my training will only get better.
My recommitment is coming up in two weeks. Thats the day I need to have a minimum of $1,000 raised, though I’m really hoping to have more than that. Thats also my last chance to chicken out! But I’m not going to. Cancer patients can’t opt out of their disease!
If you’re reading this and you haven’t donated to the cause yet, won’t you consider it? Even if cancer hasn’t affected your life yet, there is the grim reality that it might. In my mind, that makes a donation worth the money. I’ve already donated $75 and I plan to donate more. Will you join me?
