To say I’m frustrated is an understatement. I have run 3.5 miles so far this year, not the start I’d hoped for.
I’m not sure what I do differently on the treadmill that I didn’t do before because I’ve never had this problem before. Maybe its my shoes? But I had this kind of shoe last winter when I was running too.
So now I’m working on some lower leg strengthening exercises. Normally I don’t keep with exercises. I’ve had exercises for my back that I’ve kept up with for a few days at a time. But I started getting up a few minutes early and I’ve done it for a week! I already feel like they’re working. I did a test mile Wednesday night after I’d been doing the exercises for three days. While my shins still hurt, my legs did feel stronger.
As much as I’d like to keep testing, I think I’ll wait at least another week before I do. This is not so bad timing at least, as I have a chest cold brewing. I’d at least like to cross train though.
