How did I get so lucky to have such beautiful kids who adore each other? I’m sure that will change as they get older. But right now, its just so cute how they play together. Allie will sit and “read” to Peyton. Here, she was just sitting with her arms around him! She likes to help give him his food and put his shoes away when we get home from work during the week. She tries to comfort him when he cries, though sometimes I think she gets annoyed with him when he cries in the middle of the night.
My heart is melting!
A couple weeks ago, they both had doctor’s appointments in the same week. Allie for her 4-year-old check up and Peyton for his 9-month check up. Remember how when Allie was a baby I would report all this stuff right away?
Anyway, Allie’s appointment was tough. She can get skittish around new people… or even around old people some times. At the doctor’s office even though she’s gone to some of Peyton’s appointments and we watch Doc McStuffins every day, we barely got her height and weight and she wouldn’t let them take her blood pressure. With some coaxing she did let the doctor examine her, but she did her best to hide behind Mama. She didn’t enjoy her flu shot very much either.
Allie’s 4-year-old stats are 40.3″ tall and 36 pounds, 63rd and 57th percentiles. So right in the middle. Her height really shot up this year, but we knew that when we started putting her in long pants for the fall!
Peyton’s appointment was a little bit easier than Allie’s. At 9 months, Peyton measures 27.4″ for the 13th percentile and he weighs in at 18 lbs 8 oz, the 31st percentile. His weight shot up, but he’s still a small guy! Tonight I finally filled his dresser with 9- and 12-month clothes so he has pants that are long enough! I don’t know how they’ll fit though. The problem we’ve had is the 6-month sizes are short, but the 9-month sizes are too big in the waist.
Peyton has two teeth now. I can see three of his top teeth through the gums, but they haven’t cut yet. I’m hoping the two top incisors will cut and then we can have a break before the canines start coming!
Dada gets in on the picture fun too!
