I wrote the yesterday that we hadn’t really felt in the Christmas spirit lately. Well, we decided to make yesterday a Christmas day and get in the spirit. So we headed to Olbrich’s Holiday Express.
This is one of those things that is the same every year, but the kids still love it. And they do change it up too. We enjoyed the fun candy theme.
Allie loved the trains and Peyton enjoyed them too! It was kind of a surprise how much he concentrated on it.
Admission for the Holiday Express included admission to the conservatory, so we walked around there for a little while.
Peyton was fascinated! On a side note, yesterday was the first time I’ve worn him in awhile. I was pleasantly surprised it was still pretty comfortable even as he’s almost 19 pounds now. But those 19 pounds certainly did a number on my legs!
Allie played our “tour girl.” Doesn’t she look the part?
After the conservatory and a Christmas cookie, we went to the mall. Our mission at the mall was to buy a gift for the Angel Tree. We picked the tag for a 4-year-old and got some building blocks. Allie thought it was really cool to buy a gift for another kid. This is the second year we’ve done this. I enjoy it, but I really hate the mall at Christmas. We got in and out fairly easily yesterday, but it sure isn’t fun! We’ll have to look into other programs next year.
And now we’re in the holiday spirit! And the holiday crazy…. we have Peyton’s baptism this weekend in addition to Christmas. Have I mentioned we haven’t started Christmas shopping yet?
