Life as we know it

Our family adventures

Are we ready for this?

No. No, we’re not.
Yes, Peyton still doesn’t crawl or pull himself to sitting, but given the correct object, he can pull himself up to standing. This was the first time he did it on Sunday night. He’s done it several times since. In fact, he also took a few steps by pushing this diaper box. It is now a requirement that we lower the crib mattress this weekend because he almost pulled to standing when I sat him in the crib this morning to help Allie.
We’ve all been stricken with various forms of the same cold this week. I stayed home with Peyton on Tuesday. This was after nap #1 when he was feeling a bit better and more energetic. But he was still pretty tired all day in general. The cold hit the other three family members over the weekend and on Monday. It hit Mama on Tuesday night. Dada stayed home on Wednesday and we’re both pretty miserable at work today.
And in spite of the need for rest to recover from a cold, Mr. P has been boycotting sleep in the form of shortened naps and waking up at 5:30 a.m. This picture is from this morning. He looks perfectly happy except for his red eyes. And about 15 minutes after I took this picture he started rubbing his eyes, just in time to NOT have time to go back to bed! He was also up for about two hours last night as his teeth are invading again. Same ones as last time. We only have, what, another year of teething? At this rate, I wonder if he’ll have a full set of teeth by the time he starts school?

I am a running working mama. We work hard and play hard and I have a lot to share along the way.
