What a beautiful weekend for Easter! I uploaded 48 photos from our weekend, so I decided to break it up into a few different posts!
Saturday we headed down to Roscoe to the Easter egg hunt put on by my girl scout troop, Mariner Ship 361. I helped to put on some of the first ever 361 egg hunts and they’re still going strong. We joined Cousin Tyler and Aunt Jeni and Uncle Dave for the festivities.
The great thing about this egg hunt, that I didn’t appreciate until I became a parent, is its not like the traditional “egg hunt,” which really isn’t an egg hunt as much as a stampede to grab as many eggs as you can.
Its worse when the kids are really small, because then its the parents trampling others to get as many eggs for their kid as they can!
But for this hunt, kids were given a ticket for a numbered egg, hidden around the church grounds. Kids hunted for their egg, and once they found it, turned it in for a basket of prizes.
Allie had a great time! We found her egg first, then we hunted for Peyton’s and Tyler’s eggs.
It took a little longer, but soon we found Tyler’s…
And then we found Peyton’s! And he sure loved playing with that egg!
We had a good time letting the kids run around a bit before heading off for lunch. We were originally going to get to the egg hunt at 10, but that turned into 11 because it took us longer to get out of the house than expected (story of our lives). So we headed to lunch around 12:15 or 12:30 to this Mexican place and were treated to some of the slowest service ever! It took close to an hour and a half. So instead of going to see Jeni, Dave and Tyler’s new house, we decided to head home because we were all exhausted and still had a lot to do on Saturday.
It was a really fun day though, minus the slow service! We wouldn’t have really minded the slow service if it weren’t for three tired kiddos. Oh well. Hopefully we’ll be able to come down to this egg hunt next year!
