Life as we know it

Our family adventures

His wheels are turning

Big news! Peyton cut his sixth tooth! This is a big deal because each tooth has been such a long drawn out production. And he cut this one in the last few days without any obvious teething issues! Maybe we’re growing out of the horribleness of teething? I wonder how many months his four molars take. This one took about three months.

He’s really trying to talk. He says a few short words, or at least sounds we consider the words. Our doctor wanted him to have 3 to 5 words by his 15-month appointment. That is in about a month. I think we’ll get there because he says these short little words and he’s trying to see others. Current words are “up” and “egg.”

He keeps doing that standing without holding on thing. He doesn’t seem to have any desire to walk. He’ll take a few steps with someone holding his hands. He cruises furniture plenty and he crawls super fast!

I love seeing his brain and skill development. Since we moved the furniture over to keep him off the stairs, there’s a bigger corner for toys. He just sits there and plays with the farm house and other toys over there. He really loves the plastic Easter eggs. He also loves music. Whenever a song is on TV, he stops and stares.

He gives open mouth kisses, and hugs too. I leaned over near his face while I was changing him before bed and he opened wide! When Dada is coming over to kiss and hug him good night, he reaches out and puts his arm around Dada’s neck for a hug.

I suppose when I list all this new stuff he’s doing, its not all that surprising that his sleeping has been so crazy. We’ve had a couple nights where he’s woke up in the middle of the night and started babbling. The other night he was up for about 45 minutes! He luckily went back to sleep though. We have mornings when he’s up way too early. Then he makes up for it by napping for five hours at daycare. Overall, his sleep is way better than it used to be. We were using sleep sacks up until a couple weeks ago, even though he was kind of old for them. We’d tried getting away from them in the past and he definitely slept better in the sack than without. Well a couple weeks ago I decided I was tired of the sleep sacks and stopped using them, and Peyton’s slept so well since! He’s growing up!
