At 8:22 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, our beautiful Allie was born. On Thursday, she turned “1-2-3-4-5!” Its so cute, that is the way she says it, counting it out.
Allie started the day by seeing her name on the news. One of the local stations shows birthdays submitted by viewers and Bridget submitted Allie. It was fun because we paused the screen and Allie was able to point out her name! She’s learning so fast!
On her birthday, Allie got to wear her costume to school. She had a classroom birthday party along with their fall costume party. She got a portable radio from Bridget and some books from school. We went out for a birthday dinner at Olive Garden and Allie got a free little dessert. Then we went home and opened presents.
I think this present was the highlight…
I let Dada talk me into getting Allie this huge doll house. We don’t really have the space for it, but she loves it! I suppose I love it too. So does Peyton. He liked climbing on the box, but he didn’t know how to get down. Peyton likes playing with it too!
Then Friday was Halloween. It isn’t fair that the weather has been so nice lately and then we woke up Halloween morning to snow, cold and wind. I wasn’t too keen on trick-or-treating. Luckily the wind died down by the time we headed out. I’m glad we did though… we had a blast!
Of course I wasn’t able to get a nice picture of the kids together. Oh well.
We were quite surprised at how much Peyton enjoyed trick-or-treating. Since it was so cold and not many houses on our street hand out candy, we drove around and got out where there were a good number of lights on. We hit two different streets and Peyton hung in there the whole time!
We were out for about an hour. Peyton loved it so much, he got mad when we put him back in the car.
Saturday morning we put together the doll house.
This thing is huge!
Then this afternoon we went down to Grandma and Grandpa Swanson’s for cake and ice cream. And we finally got to meet Baby Evelyn!
Peyton didn’t seem to sure about this little creature Mama was holding.
Allie was so excited to hold Baby Evelyn! Aunt Jeni says she weights about seven and a half pounds now, so she’s the size Peyton was when he was born. Its hard to remember my baby being this small!
Sticking with the theme of the week, we decided to get a Princess Sofia cake to add to her Sofia costume and new Sofia backpack.
Blowing out the candles!
Peyton polished off his cake. There’s no sharing a piece of cake with him, he has his own. Allie ate the ice cream and decided she didn’t really want the cake.
And then it was present time!
It was a nice afternoon with the family! It was a bit of a bummer though that Grandpa Swanson was in the hospital this weekend. He’s fine now, should get out tomorrow, but missed the party 😦 We stopped by the hospital on the way home and brought him a piece of cake.
